Romania - training facilitation methods 14th - 15th July 2008

Hi Everybody,

On the 14th and 15th July, 2008 members from 4 Romanian NGO's working on the implementation and promotion of Eco-San Toilets and Water Safety Plans participated in a training on community mobilization and facilitation methods. This training was organized by WECF who are currently implementing a programme on sanitation and clean water in poor rural areas of Romania. Areas are based around Bucharest, Alexandria and Timisoara. For me it was the first time to work in Romania, and I enjoyed it very much to work with 11 dedicated people working together at a school in Alexandria.

In the training members from NGO's, who are guiding the implementation process of these water and sanitation projects, and teachers participated in the training. Both groups showed an immense motivation and enthousiasm on learning and practising the facilitation methods. As one of the participants stated "The facilitation process is necessary at work and in everyday life and being a "facilitator" is a human quality first of all.

Other commented that is was an efficient course, and a useful one for developing the capacities and qualities in facilitation.
