Project cycle management & Capacity development - 20, 23 - 24 april 2009

"Very useful course! The capacity development was not only about planning, we also got acquainted with the analysis and the monitoring & evaluation part. We have learned many useful tools! Project management helps to support your thinking on how to make more effective use of your money......" These were some of the comments given by the three advisors, who participated in the training project cycle management/ logical framework and capacity development, which was organised on 20, 23 - 24 april 2009 by the Hendrik Kraemer Institute.

The three advisors coming from ICCO and Stichting Stephanos will be working in Cameroen and Malawi. One will focus on strengthening a local organisation in stimulating the process of certification of sustainable woodproduction and sales in Cameroen, while the other will focus on managing an integrated project in Malawi assisting orphans and local communities on education, health, water and agriculture.
The project cycle management part focused on working with the project design applying and working with the logical framework. The capacity development part was composed of elements of doing an organisational analysis & how to plan according to capacity development pillars such as HRD (Human Resource Development), OD (Organisational Development) and ID (Institutional Development). The last day part of the course was focused on monitoring and evaluation. According to an M&E video of an education project the participants elaborated the key questions for reviewing and evaluating a project. Some of the tools which were applied during this course can be found at the toolbox site of ICCO.
